A blend of patterns, bold abstract lines and painting. All wrapped into two complimentary pieces. I have a fascination about cards and their history and decided to create a yin and yang, two part card series.

QUEEN OF SWORDS

The Queen of Swords is the symbol of divine feminine energy. She reminds us to stay true to ourselves and empower the gifts we’ve been given. Sometimes reframing how we think of things can turn problems into strengths. There are two hearts hidden at the bottom of the Queen’s cloak representing the King of Hearts. While she is strong on the outside, her love is hidden deep so the world doesn’t see her as weak.

KING OF heARTS

Have you ever heard of the suicide king? The King of Hearts in a deck of cards, typically has a sword in his head! I chose to have the King at rest and reflection but ready to defend if needed. He is calm on the outside but his emotions bleed internally. A golden heart with a spade is almost covered to show love for his Queen.
