PURPLE TRIUMPH

How do you describe riding a motorcycle to someone who has never done it before? It’s physical & emotional pleasure, with a layer of anxiety & adrenaline. When you ride a motorcycle, you notice smells in a way that you don’t when you travel by car.

Sometimes you will notice that you are close to a body of water before you even see it because you feel the temperature drop. These smells and feelings greatly impact the experience and help to form lasting memories in a way that is unique. Motorcycle riding is a combination of exhilaration, fear, relaxation, and pleasure that changes you forever.

The motorcycle paintings are a nod to my husband. This particular triumph was taken near Katy, Texas at an event. This is not my typical style but it was a satisfying challenge to tackle.

RED TRIUMPH

This painting is a nod to my husband. He said he wanted a motorcycle for his birthday when we lived in Canada a decade ago. So I painted him one. (This always gets a laugh.)
